Before you even put up a website you must have information of what your web market will most likely be. This means you are required to do a lot of keyword research. Even if you think you know all about the niche market, the problem most of web marketers make is to pre-assume their net market or niche is satiated with hungry buyers with wads of dough.

If your net market is popular in keyword searches but practically no one is spending cash then your tasks will be wasted.

Once you know you market that will allow your future website to earn revenue, you can start discovering products and services that sell to that niche market.

Simply do a search on any search engine or go to an affiliate network, e.g., clickbank.com, cj.com, modernclick.com, azoogle.com. These networks pay based on either per lead, per action or per sale.

Conduct a profitability research. Don't throw just any product or service on your web site. This is a big mistake made by too many home business owners.

Determine the profitability of every affiliate product first. Do that by determining the search engine results and follow the ads on the far right (adwords) for many days or weeks. This task is tedious but is critical to your success.

Make a plan of your web site. The critical point here is make sure you add loads of quality content that the search engines will adore.

Lay out your skeleton structure of your web site. This will be the navigation and content layout.

Check out your competition. Investigate how they are pre-selling similar products or services. This is also known as back engineering the competition. Add web traffic to your web site:

1. Social networking 2. Blogs 3. Pay per click advertising 4. Forum signatures 5. List building 6. Article submission etc. etc.

Continue building quality content and your web site will jump in page ranking and the search engines will adore your web site.
